Joe Biden intends to announce the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan by 11 September, a symbolic date linked to the attack on the Twin Towers that dragged the United States into its longest war.
The Washington Post writes, reporting that the announcement should be made tomorrow.
The decision means that thousands of US troops will remain in Afghanistan beyond May 1, a deadline that the Trump administration had negotiated with the Taliban for the exit of American troops.
