Fatal accident on the A3: A collision between a truck and two cars occurred on Sunday evening near Frankfurt Airport.
Two people were killed in the process.
During their operation, police stopped a man who was aggressively filming the scene of the accident.
According to the police, the two cars were on the hard shoulder after a breakdown.
The two drivers - a 35-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman - were outside their vehicles.
For an unexplained cause, a truck came off the road to the right and rammed the cars.
The car was pushed away by the impact and caught the two people.
The 35-year-old died on site, the 27-year-old later succumbed to her serious injuries in the hospital.
The truck driver was slightly injured.
Gaffer films the scene of the accident
The rescue workers on site had to deal with a gaffer during their operation.
According to reports from RTL and Hessischer Rundfunk, the man is said to have filmed the scene of the accident so aggressively that the police stopped his car and recorded his personal details.
The police confirmed the incident to SPIEGEL, but initially refused to comment on reports claiming that the officers showed the man the body of the 35-year-old victim as a deterrent.
However, the spectator must expect a penalty for his behavior, according to the police.
Taking photos of deaths or injuries in traffic accidents can be severely punished in Germany.
The law threatens fines or imprisonment for up to two years.
Nevertheless, rescue workers are repeatedly hindered by onlookers.
The Johanniter therefore started a test campaign in Berlin and Brandenburg a few days ago.
A QR code on rescue vehicles and the equipment of the helpers sends a clear message to the photographer's mobile phone as soon as the camera is pointed at the symbols: the message "Gawking kills" appears on the display on a red background.
