Facebook, Google, TikTok and Twitter are committed to fighting abuse of women on their platforms. The announcement during the United Nations Generation Equality Forum in Paris, the initiative is led by the World Wide Web Foundation, co-founded by one of the Internet's fathers, Tim Berners Lee, and comes after a letter appealing to women in sight as l former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, former US tennis player Billie Jean King and British actresses Thandiwe Newton and Emma Watson.
