Storms and floods have led to numerous emergencies in southern Germany.
The Franconian district of
Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim was
badly affected
: a so-called major damage event was declared there due to floods, landslides and uprooted trees, as the district office announced.
Classes in schools have been discontinued.
In Wilhermsdorf in
the Fürth district,
numerous people are without electricity after the storms.
There was a complete power outage in the center, said the district fire chief Frank Bauer.
But he reckons that the damage can be repaired in the evening, said Bauer.
In addition to the village, the communities of Langenzenn and Veitsbronn are also affected by floods.
They are also located on the Zenn River.
According to the Bavarian flood news service, the level of the Zenn near Stöckach rose within a few hours by around 2.50 meters to an all-time high, and Sulzach and Altmühl also recorded meter-high increases.

the Bamberg district,
too,
according to the Bamberg Integrated Operations Center, the electricity went out from time to time in the afternoon after a distribution box was submerged.
Numerous fire brigade operations
In the Bamberg district, according to the fire brigade, an "impressive number of cellars" were also full.

In addition, the area around Hof was hit: 70 missions still need to be processed, said a spokesman for the Hochfranken control center.
Cellars and streets were flooded, trees were broken, but there were no injuries.
In addition to the flood situation,
Ansbach also
had to deal with a dud from the Second World War.
Thousands of residents had to leave their homes despite the flooding.
Because of the persistent rainfall in combination with the defusing of the bomb at the train station, the city declared a disaster.
According to Bayerischer Rundfunk, the explosive device has now been defused.
There were also
flood warnings
in the
Forchheim
and
Coburg districts
,
among other things
, as emerged from the warnings of the Bavarian flood intelligence service.
Warnings were given there against "flooding for built-up areas".
In Herzogenaurach in

Shortly afterwards, an officer from the police station in Nördlingen in
the Donau-Ries district

The police headquarters in Augsburg published the short film.
The storms with heavy rain also caused the rivers to swell in Baden-Württemberg.
In the east of the country in particular, streets and cellars were flooded.
In
Ravensburg
on Lake Constance Roads were blocked, aquaplaning led to accidents, cars were stuck in the water.
Slopes slipped in several places.
The flood forecast center (HVZ) Baden-Württemberg reported floods at Riß, Rems, Kocher and Jagst, among others.
At the Riß gauge in Niederkirch
south of Ulm
, a water level of 2.77 meters was measured on Friday afternoon, where one meter is normal.
In the past few weeks, such a rare event had happened there for the third time due to heavy rain, said an HVZ expert.
West Germany also recorded abundant rainfall in the past few days,
and a motorway
in the
Ruhr area
was under water on Thursday. Today the water management association in Essen reports: Never before have the Ruhr Association dams been so full on July 9th as they were on Friday. The filling level of the eight dams was 113 percent of the long-term average. The total filling level of the dam system has been reported to have remained almost unchanged since the end of April. The reason is the recurring rains.
There could be more floods in the coming days.
In many places, according to the German Weather Service (DWD), it should remain changeable: On Saturday, a short intermediate
high ensures that the
weather calms down, but in the evening there is again a threat
of
strong thunderstorms, hail, heavy rain and squalls.
