A new landslide in Westphalia, after
yesterday's one
, has dragged some houses and cars with it, causing the death of an unknown number of people in Erftstadt-Blessem, Westphalia.
The Dpa writes, quoting a spokesman from Cologne, who said "there are victims".
"Nobody can doubt that this catastrophe is due to climate change".
Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said this, speaking to the Spiegel.
"I have never experienced a flood with so many victims and missing persons".
The minister has promised aid for the affected areas, and urged greater impetus for environmental policies.
Inanto the number of flood victims has risen to 93: over 50 in Rhineland-Palatinate, as stated by President Malu Dreyer, and 43 in North Rhine-Westphalia, which has just updated the official bulletin.
