Relatives joined their claims to demand justice for
the death of two women
, after being operated on by the same plastic surgeon whom they
accuse of malpractice
.
Soledad Vargas
is one of the victims who lost her life two days after undergoing
liposuction
: she decompensated at home, had a stroke and a pulmonary thromboembolism.
It was in June.
Celeste, the victim's sister, explained that she had surgery on Tuesday and that she visited her two days later: "
I noticed her strange
. It was not just pain. She tried to get up and did not react again. She did not respond and
was pale
."
He specified that Soledad underwent
a dermolipectomy
, an operation to correct excess fat and skin, along with liposuction.
"
An hour
passed
between the time she was operated on and she was sent home
. She had no postoperative control," she complained this Thursday in dialogue with
TN
.
"I called the surgeon and he told me that
he could not do anything because he rented,
he only rented the operating room and did not have a physical place to attend to emergencies," he said.
As Celeste explained, the doctor, named Roberto López, suggested they go to
the Penna Hospital
because "he had an acquaintance," who "treated her on guard duty."
By then, his sister was already in respiratory failure.
"She was without oxygen for five hours. When they found it difficult, they referred her to the Ramos Mejía Hospital where unfortunately they couldn't do anything," she complained.
Shortly before, the family specified that they had contacted SAME, but "they did not want to treat her because they said that
the doctor who operated on her
should
respond
."
Yasmín, in April
The case was almost a carbon copy of what happened in the death of
Yasmín Valdés
, another 31-year-old girl who was treated in the same place, with the same doctor.
She had plastic surgery similar to Soledad's.
It was in April.
"Yasmín had control on Friday and told her that it hurt a lot. But (the surgeon) boasted
that she had been divine
and sent her home," said Lucas, the victim's boyfriend.
She also explained that on Tuesday she woke up dizzy and, when calling the doctor, he replied that "it would be
because she ate badly
."
Another close friend of the victim added that Jasmine ingested what the doctor told her.
Faced with the visible decompensation, she was rushed to the Homemade Model Sanatorium and she arrived fainted.
And died.
The families and relatives of the victims made a protest to demand justice in downtown Buenos Aires, in front of the building where the surgeon said he was renting his office.
They were unable to contact him again

They wallpaper the entrance with pictures of the two young women.
One group learned of the other at a previous protest.
