Covid-19: getting vaccinated is "an act of love", according to Pope Francis

Pope Francis urges the faithful to get vaccinated.

The 84-year-old sovereign pontiff said getting the Covid-19 vaccine was an "act of love".

Love for yourself, love for family and friends, love for everyone, ”he continued.

He called on all believers to get immunized.

Getting vaccinated is a simple way to promote the common good and take care of each other, especially the most vulnerable.

"Thanks to God and the work of many, we now have vaccines to protect us against Covid-19," Pope Francis said in a video intended to support the "It's up to you" initiative, a campaign by promotion of vaccination in the United States and other countries in the Americas.

"Hope to end the pandemic"

For Pope Francis, the arrival of vaccines against Covid-19 is a "hope to end the pandemic".

He nevertheless issued a condition: "these vaccines must be available to everyone and there must be mutual aid between the countries".

He also added that vaccination was a way to "take care of each other" and "promote the common good".

Concluding his message, Pope Francis affirmed that "everyone had the opportunity to put their stone to the building".
