A buzzing backpack triggered a large-scale operation at Nuremberg Central Station.
Because of the baggage, around 50 emergency services - including special forces for defusing - were deployed, the police said.
The potential source of danger then turned out to be an electric shaver.
It later emerged, according to the information, that an 85-year-old man had temporarily parked the backpack in the waiting area.
Trains were delayed due to the deployment, and 15 shops had to close temporarily.
Who pays the stake?
Deutsche Bahn employees called the police on Tuesday afternoon because of the softly humming baggage that was hidden behind chairs.
As a result, large parts of the station were closed and train traffic on several tracks was stopped.
The 85-year-old came back an hour later.
He was able to describe the rucksack to the police officers and was thus identified as the owner.
Officials then found the vibrating razor in the bag.
A police spokesman said it is now being examined who will have to pay the costs of the operation.
In principle, recourse can be taken against those responsible for such measures if they recklessly trigger such operations.
In addition, in such cases there may be civil claims.
