The king of escapes Max Leitner, after a period of freedom, was arrested last night after a shooting near a nightclub in Bolzano.

In the car in which the South Tyrolean was with another person, the police would have found weapons.
Leitner is known in the national news for having escaped five times in different circumstances from various prisons.
In September 2016, Leitner returned to his home above Bressanone, where he was to serve house arrest for a sentence which was scheduled to end on June 7, 2019. The 57-year-old, also known as the 'Vallanzasca dell'Alto Adige', ended up in the national news because over the years he had managed to escape five times from five different prisons.
After being convicted of a series of robberies in the 1980s, Leitner was captured in August 1990 by the Austrian police during an assault on a security van and later escaped first from Austrian prison and then from other prisons in Italy.
At the basis of the decision, to grant him house arrest, there would also be human health problems.
