(ANSA) - KHARTUM, OCTOBER 26 - Sudanese opposed to the military coup took to the streets during the night in Khartoum to protest against the round-up of civilian leaders.
Clashes had already broken out in the capital after the speech of Sudanese general Abdel Fattah al-Burhan at the head of the coup, with the ministry of information saying that the soldiers had "fired live bullets at the demonstrators who refused the military coup outside the headquarters of the army".
Three protesters were killed and around 80 wounded when soldiers opened fire, according to Sudan's Independent Central Medical Committee, as supporters of the civilian government waved flags and erected barricades with stones and tires, setting them on fire. (HANDLE).
