The man had just got off the bus when the officers asked him to show the green certificate.
"I don't have it because I wanted to get vaccinated in the next few days" justified the 50-year-old Romanian.
For him, a fine of 400 euros was issued.
The Green pass checks for bus and metro travelers have also been activated in Rome.
At the turnstiles in Termini station and at the bus terminus in Piazza dei Cinquecento, the police and local police are checking the travelers' green certificate.
Announcements with loudspeakers inside the metro stations on the need to have a green pass to travel on board the convoys.
"Controls are proceeding well in the main local public transport locations - said StefanoNapoli, Deputy Commander General of the local police - we carry out detailed random checks guaranteeing fluidity for public transport.
