Musician Yvonne Catterfeld, 42, and actor Oliver Wnuk, 45, have announced their separation after 14 years of relationship.
"We spend Christmas together - but have not been lovers since this spring," both wrote on Instagram on Saturday evening for a photo together in front of a Christmas tree.
"We're celebrating the festival of love - just a little different from now on."
The celebrity couple met while filming together, and their son Charlie was born in 2014.
"The knowledge that - through our son alone - our paths will cross for a lifetime gives us a good feeling," explained Catterfeld and Wnuk.
The 42-year-old from Erfurt achieved her musical breakthrough in 2003 with “For You”.
She recently released her first album in English, "Change".
Wnuk, who was born in Konstanz, became known for the comedy series »Stromberg«, where he played the employee Ulf Steinke.
Since 2010 he can be seen in the ZDF series "Nord Nord Mord".
