The reboot of »Sex and The City« elicited mixed reactions from viewers.

Some find that "And Just Like That..." has catapulted the characters around columnist Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) into the present.

The others that the series tries too hard to seem progressive.

After all, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) had her long-awaited queer coming-out by some viewers.

And even the conservative Charlotte (Kristin Davis) had to deal with gender identities in an unusual way.

Although the streaming platform HBO Max has not yet officially ordered a second season, those responsible are now flirting with a sequel – albeit without Kim Cattrall.

Showrunner Michael Patrick King and Parker talked about it two weeks ago, the actress told industry magazine Variety, wondering when a sequel would be on the table.

»Because there is a schedule and you don't want to let too much time go by.

It feels like this moment is right now.” Both King and Parker would like to continue the series.

And HBO Max should also be interested.

Most Successful Original Series

Because the "SATC" sequel, the finale of which was broadcast on the pay channel Sky on Thursday, has become the most successful original series on the streaming platform.

"It's been phenomenal in terms of viewership," confirmed Casey Bloys, the streaming provider's chief content officer.

What could stand in the way of a sequel?

King and Parker are still not counting on Kim Cattrall, who previously played the confident, orgasm-seeking PR executive Samantha Jones.

She didn't feel like another sequel and quarrel with colleague Parker.

Instead of letting Samantha die a serial death or recast the character, the decision was made to have her move away after a fall out with Carrie.

Fans hoped for a return

But the figure wasn't completely gone.

To avoid too many unanswered questions and disappointed fans, signs of life from the character were included via SMS.

That gave hope that Samantha might come back after all, maybe in the next season?

When asked if she'd even be okay with Cattrall starring again, Parker told Variety, "I don't think I would be."

As a reason, she cited the many public expressions of emotion from her former colleague.

Parker had called her a hypocrite on Instagram.

"Let me make that very clear," Cattrall wrote some years ago.

“You are not my family.

You're not my girlfriend."

In the past few weeks, several women have also made serious allegations against “Mr.

Big« actor Chris Noth raised.

Although the character died in the first episode of the sequel, she was likely to appear again in the finale.

But the broadcaster cut out his character.

A connection between the allegations and the cut was not expressly made.

However, there are some indications that the broadcaster has taken action, as more and more women have spoken out, accusing Noth of sexual abuse and harassment.
