A bus with a Ukrainian license plate with about fifty people on board - women and children and two men, one of whom is the driver - fleeing the war arrived this morning at the border of Fernetti (Trieste).
Waiting for the bus were the police, Carabinieri, Police and Guardia di Finanza, who carried out regular border checks.
They are all headed to the homes of friends or acquaintances, mainly in the north between Brescia, Vicenza, Milan.
Someone is also headed to Rome.
The bus is one of those used for long-distance transfers, probably of a German company, and would be the first of refugees to arrive in Fernetti, the first Italian border, for those arriving from the East.
Early this morning and yesterday some cars or a few people arrived in dribs and drabs on buses of Romanian nationality.
This, however, would be the first with a Ukrainian license plate.
On the windshield there is the inscription "Cherkasy -Genova, through Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Ternopil, Lviv".
On board there are women and children, even only a few months old, who left two days ago and arrived this morning.
Their husbands, they said, remained in Ukraine to fight.
All have launched an appeal, "peace soon return".
