The Z was apparently formed from adhesive strips: an Austrian truck driver is said to have been caught in Illertissen with the symbol of the Russian war against Ukraine. Now he faces a penalty.

Because an Austrian truck driver is said to have taped the Z symbol for the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine and the words "Fuck Nato" to his vehicle, criminal proceedings are now being instituted in Germany for the approval of criminal offenses against him.

The 47-year-old was noticed by veil investigators at a motorway rest area near Illertissen in Bavaria, the police said.

Since the man did not have a permanent residence in Germany, he had to deposit a security deposit of 2,500 euros by order of the Memmingen public prosecutor.

He removed the adhesive tape as instructed before continuing his journey.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in late February, a white "Z" has often been seen on Russian tanks and uniforms.

It stands for "Za Pobedu" - "For Victory".

It will also be displayed outside of the war zone on buildings, cars and clothing, and on social media in support of aggressive warfare.

According to one expert opinion, showing the Z symbol can be a criminal offense because it publicly endorses aggressive war.
