Berlin – While the summer is giving us a kind of “break” from Corona with the falling number of cases, researchers and scientists are currently working on another virus: monkeypox.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has now reported a total of 44 cases from eight federal states (as of June 3rd).

Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (55, SPD) has already announced that vaccine doses will be ordered.

The fear of spreading and contagion is great for some people.

The symptoms of monkeypox are easily confused with those of the flu.

A skin rash is also typical of a disease.

The skin lesions, in turn, are similar to chickenpox.
