NAPLES - Visit by representatives of the European Commission to the Pignatelli Chapel in Piazzetta Nilo reopened to the public thanks to the restoration works.
The administration nominates the site as the gateway to the Unesco Great Historic Center Project.
The initiative is part of the strategic vision of the Municipality which is working in synergy with the Universities and the Campania Region "in order to give new impetus to cultural and tourist activities for the enhancement of the historic center of Naples".
Precisely with a view to continuity, the Suor Orsola Benincasa University, owner of the property donated by the Pignatelli family, has recently further enhanced the site from a technological point of view with its own funds.
The aim is to further enhance the many paths that, starting from here, can cross the city, showing its extraordinary artistic and cultural tradition.
The administration wants to give renewed impetus to
progress of the 27 interventions that are scheduled as part of the Great Project Unesco Historic Center of Naples and, following constant monitoring and coordination of interventions, an acceleration was given both for the conclusion of the interventions still open, such as the Complex of Saints Severino and Sossio, both for the suspended and resumed works this year including the Girolamini Complex.
Furthermore, the administration is renewing the agreements in place for the usability of the sites whose works have already been completed, which involve the Municipality as the beneficiary of the loan and the entities owning the assets.
