The tax-free threshold for fringe benefits doubles again: according to what has been learned, during the meeting at Palazzo Chigi on the Aid bis decree, IV's proposal was accepted, which in the past had already presented amendments to this effect, to bring back the company benefits tax deducted from 258 to 516 euros, as happened during the Covid emergency.

One more point of cutting the wedge, which thus reaches 1.8%, starting from July 1st and until the end of the year.

And a three-month advance of the revaluation of pensions, with the checks that will increase by 2% starting in October.

This too would be part of the scheme of the new interventions on work and pensions that will be introduced with the aid decree bis, illustrated by the government to the parties.

During the meeting, the resources necessary for the two interventions would not have been quantified.

Confirmed that the deduction will concern income up to 35 thousand euros.

"The structure of the decree is very acceptable and as the Democratic Party we will undertake not to present amendments to facilitate their rapid conversion", said Senator

Antonio Misiani

, economic manager of the Democratic Party, at the end of the meeting at Palazzo Chigi.

"The most important choices collect what we had asked for as Pd: the further cut of the tax wedge, the extension of the 200 euro bonus to some excluded categories, the extension of aid for families, businesses and local authorities and advance of the indexation of pensions. We have also insisted a lot on resources for health: the Covid emergency is not yet over and the government must help the regions to better manage the extraordinary financial effort they are putting in place also in

"Inflation weighs on household spending. The Istat data for June on retail sales highlights, once again, the negative role played by the upward dynamics of prices, in particular of utilities and other incompressible fixed costs, which Italians to reduce purchases, while spending even more, with the risk of a real black autumn for consumption ".

Thus

Confesercenti

in a note commenting on today's Istat data.

"Companies are now forced to shift price increases that are no longer 'amortizable' from their margins, while the trend of consumers is to reduce purchases with compulsory expenses on the rise. A situation that risks being no longer manageable, these expenses are placed on the threshold of 50% and the Arera has raised the alarm: this winter, without a calming of international or domestic prices, gas and electricity bills are likely to double, after the increases already recorded to date, still affecting more on household consumption and, therefore, on commercial and tertiary businesses. Confidence must be restored and inflationary expectations removed:
