What outfits are allowed at the pool?
To get to the pool or to leave, you can dress as you wish.
Trousers, jeans or shorts, the choice is yours.
On the other hand, to access the pool, only certain outfits are authorized in the pool.
For men, the choice is limited to swim briefs, swim boxers and jammers.
The latter is simply a longer swim boxer that covers the entire thigh to above the knee.
Swim shorts, i.e. looser men's swimwear models that usually have pockets, are prohibited.
This rule is valid in all swimming pools open to the public.
This is the only rule to follow.
Then, it's up to you to see if you're more comfortable in swimming trunks or longer or shorter boxers.
For women, the rules are less strict.
They can wear a one-piece swimsuit or a two-piece swimsuit, including a bikini.
However, the bathing string is prohibited for conditions of modesty.
The same goes for the practice of the monokini at the public swimming pool.
Why are swimming shorts prohibited at the pool?
There is a rule common to all public swimming pools.
This is the ban on wearing swim shorts for men.
This prohibition can be explained in two ways.
On the one hand, swimming shorts are often worn longer than swimming trunks because they look like ordinary clothing.
However, the wearer of such a swimsuit can approach more dirt and pollution coming from outside in the water of the swimming pool.
Likewise, most swim shorts have pockets.
Crumbs, tissues and objects of all kinds may be in the water.
This is why swimming shorts are prohibited in the pool for hygienic reasons.
On the other hand, it is not possible to wear swimming shorts at the pool for safety reasons.
In effect,
the first cause of pool water pollution is embodied by the swimmers themselves.
As we have just said, wearing swim shorts involves an increased risk of water pollution.
So if it was allowed to wear this type of swimsuit in the pool, the water would have to be treated more with chemicals.
This would go against the interests of other swimmers and could affect their health.
Therefore, the ban on wearing swimming shorts at the pool is not ready to be lifted.
If you dare to show up in the enclosure of the swimming pool with swimming shorts, the lifeguards and other supervisors must prohibit you from swimming.
Note that other health and safety rules apply to the pool, such as taking a shower before swimming and using the footbath.
