(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 25 - There are 799 demonstrators currently held in Russia after arrests during the protests against the mobilization announced by President VladimirPutin, according to updated data from the independent media project on human rights Ovd-Info.
In total, about 2 thousand demonstrators were arrested, most of them released.
Ovd-Info has collected the testimonies of some activists who reported that they were detained in a Moscow police department after they were prevented from calling and had to hand over their cell phones.
At the stops, fingerprints were taken and photographed.
In San Pietroburtgo, human rights activist Dinar Idrisov said that those arrested were detained all night without protocol.
Another activist, Ilya Leshukov, told Ovd-Info that in Kotlas (Arkhangelsk region), the security forces arrested Deputy Mayor Anatoly Arseev, who was filming a demonstration.
