2022-10-13T09:22:23.707Z

Six of the eight refineries in France are on strike this Thursday: the four from TotalEnergies and the two from Esso-ExxonMobil. Only those of Lavéra (Petroineos group) and Grandpuits (Total) are not blocked.

The strike movement at the origin of the shortage of fuel which affects many service stations continues this Thursday, as much on the side of TotalEnergies as Esso-ExxonMobil.

For TotalEnergies, the movement was renewed "

by a very large majority

" Thursday morning, concerning a total of five sites, according to the CGT coordinator for the group, Eric Sellini, the day after the failure of discussions with management.

"

The strike is renewed at the Normandy refinery, at the Donges refinery, at the Feyzin refinery, at the Flanders depot and at the Mède refinery

", detailed Eric Sellini.

The CGT coordinator clarified that the Grandpuits loading base is on the other hand "

open

", because it was no longer "

blocked by militants on the spot

".

Without knowing however “

if the logistics will follow

” so that the site works again.

The CGT, which launched the strike on September 27 at TotalEnergies, is demanding a 10% increase for 2022, against the 3.5% obtained at the start of the year, in order to offset inflation and take advantage of the group's exceptional profits. .

“The strike was renewed on both sites”

Similar situation on the side of Esso-ExxonMobil.

The strike was renewed at 6 a.m. on the two sites

” of Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône) and Gravenchon-Port-Jérôme (Seine-Maritime), where employees were requisitioned on Wednesday at the fuel depot , said CGT central union representative Christophe Aubert.

Early this morning, the employees maintained a picket line in front of the Gravenchon-Port-Jérôme site.

Striking employees lit a fire and burned tires.

The refinery strikers had gathered in a room away from the picket line to decide whether to renew the strike for eight hours.

A new general meeting must therefore take place at 2 p.m. to decide whether or not to continue the movement, said Christophe Aubert.

On this site, the Ministry of Energy Transition launched on Wednesday the requisition of the personnel essential to the operation of the fuel depot, in order to release stocks and refuel the dry service stations in the Ile-de-France region.

The requisition does not target refinery operations and therefore fuel production.

The prefecture of Normandy has implemented these decrees, which have been notified by the director of the site to four employees, two for Wednesday and two for Thursday, according to the ministry.

Philippe Martinez, the secretary general of the CGT, announced Wednesday that an urgent appeal against this requisition would be filed Thursday.

The Flandres depot, near Dunkirk, is also on strike.

The Minister of Energy Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher assured Thursday morning on RMC that the government will take “

” measures “

” from this deposit.

At Esso-ExxonMobil, an agreement was reached on Tuesday with two majority unions including the CFDT, but not with the CGT.

On the other hand at TotalEnergies, the management ensures that “
