A first aid kit is a must in every household.
In order to be equipped for emergencies, this should be checked regularly for completeness.
It doesn't matter whether it's just a scratch, a bruised knee or a cut - minor injuries happen again and again in everyday life.
If the wound is not too deep and only bleeds a little, you do not have to go straight to the doctor.
If you have a well-stocked first-aid kit at home, you can easily treat the wound yourself.
But what actually belongs in the first aid kit?
You can find out here which materials you should definitely have at home.

In order to be able to provide first aid in the event of minor mishaps and accidents, you should not only have sufficient knowledge of immediate measures.
Good first aid equipment should also be available in every household.
Bandage materials such as sterile compresses, plasters and a disinfectant should always be available.
It is therefore worthwhile to regularly check the first aid kit for missing materials.

Take a look in the first aid cabinet at least every six months.
However, not only the content should be checked for completeness.
Dates on medication and drug packaging should also be checked.
Discard anything that has expired or was labeled for limited use once opened.

So keep an eye on the expiry date.
Plasters and bandages can lose their adhesive properties over time.
Compresses are also only sterile for a certain period of time.
All bandage materials should therefore have an expiry date and be replaced immediately when they have expired.
