(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 30 - In a market mostly conditioned by the health emergency, which has imposed the obligation of masks in theaters until June 15, cinemas in 2022 recorded a total taking of around 306 million euros for a number attendance equal to 44.5 million tickets sold.
This is a higher result than that of 2021 (+81% takings and +79% attendance), when cinemas had reopened starting from 26 April, and a decrease of 48% in takings and 51% in attendance compared to the three-year average 2017-2019.
These are the first annual data released by Cinetel: the report and complete analyzes will be released and commented on during the press conference to present the 2022 data, which will be held on 10 January 2023 at 10.00 in the Anica room in Rome.
The three films that generally recorded the best grossing result at the box office were "Avatar" (over 27 million euros in box office), "Minions 2" (14.7 million euros in box office) and "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" (13.6 million).
The three Italian films that have grossed the most are "La stranezza" (5.4 million), "Il grande giorno" (over 4 million) and "Me contro te - persi nel tempo" (3.5 million). (ANSA).
