The Dutchman, with a time of 1'32"837 and 157 laps completed, preceded the expert Asturian Fernando Alonso, at 0"029 (60 laps), and the Spanish from Ferrari, Carlos Sainz, at 0"416 ( 72 laps). Fourth time for the Monegasque, also on a Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, at 0"430 (64 laps), fifth for the British Lando Norris on McLaren, at 0"625 (40 laps). Tomorrow the second day of practice in Bahrain.
