(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 22 - Signed today by the ministers of tourism and the family, Daniela Santanché and Eugenia Roccella together with the major trade associations of the hotel sector, for the project You are not alone, a network of solidarity hotels that will open their doors to women victims of violence.
"Violence against women gets worse every day - explains Minister Santanché -. And the abuse often takes place in the family. We thought, after the recovery process, of hosting these women in hotels to give them a moment of relaxation and get them back to normal life".
"Despite good laws, we have not yet managed to counteract this phenomenon with impressive numbers", continues Minister Roccella.
On the part of the government, you add, "there is unity and a common will to tackle this problem", "since the Budget Law" and "with all the delegations present in the various ministries".
There are already a thousand establishments throughout Italy that are members of Qui sei non solo.
The project envisages shelter from 3 days to a week for women victims of violence, together with their children, at the end of their journey in the anti-violence centres.
