A brush fire in a field was declared Sunday, August 25 in Saint-Hilaire-la-Forêt, a locality Biard. No victim to lament.
It is an important device of eleven rescue trucks that was deployed to control a fire that broke out in a field at a place called Biard, Saint-Hilaire-la-Forêt, Sunday, August 25 in the after -midday.
The brush fire spread over six hectares, 60 000 m² gone up in smoke. The fire was "in a part that was not classified in the red zone," said firefighters, referring to the ranking of the drought level in the Vendée.
At 7 pm, the fire was just circumscribed. "We are drowning the area from which the fire left," said the relief so that there is no recovery possible. No less than six trucks dedicated to the forest fire were on site at 4 pm and a water supply truck.
The causes are, for the time being, unknown. Fortunately, no casualties are to be deplored. "A high voltage line was cut temporarily by Enedis to avoid any risk," said the Gendarmerie Saint-Hilaire-la-Forêt.
At the top of one of the smoke fields, horses and a farm were overlooking, " but we managed to stop the fire upstream," said the firefighters.
