Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev discussed with Iraqi National Security Advisor Faleh Fayyad in Moscow today the situation in Syria and various aspects of Russian-Iraqi political interaction and issues of military and technical cooperation.
The press service of the National Security Council in the Russian Federation said in a press statement that "Patrushev stressed during the meeting that the Russian-Iraqi relations are continuously strengthened and that cooperation between the security councils and sovereign institutions of the two countries responds to their common interest."
The two sides have recently discussed Russian-Iraqi cooperation in the fight against international terrorism, and special attention has been paid to cooperation between military departments, security agencies and law enforcement agencies in Russia and Iraq.
