[Washington, 11th Reuters]-US President Trump suggested on May 11 that it could ease sanctions against Iran. He said he was convinced that the Iranian government wanted an agreement with the US over the nuclear issue.
In response to a question from reporters that the US could loosen the “maximum pressure” on Iran, President Trump responded, “Let's watch what happens.”
In addition, Iran said it would be “very dangerous” to start enriching uranium and “I am convinced that Iran wants to agree”.
“It's great if Iran wants an agreement. It does n’t matter,” he said, “Iran is facing financial difficulties. Sanctions are getting tougher.”
In addition, he answered that he was not considering anything about the plan to meet with Iranian President Rouhani at the UN General Assembly held in the month.
The presumption that President Trump dismissed hard-line presidential assistant Bolton (in charge of national security affairs) in the foreign policy the day before is spreading speculation that the US hard line against Iran and others will partially change.
Meanwhile, President Rouhani talked to French President Macron on that day and stated that he would not negotiate with the United States as long as the United States maintained its sanctions against Iran.
