(CNN Spanish) - At least seven people died after a plane crashed in a neighborhood of the city of Popayán, in Colombia, the Civil Aeronautics of that country reported.
The entity explained that the aircraft belonged to the Transpacific company and that it covered the Popayán-López de Micay route. He also indicated that the fatal accident occurred “minutes after taking off from the Guillermo León Valencia airport”.
After the statement, the Civil Aeronautics published a tweet in which he specified that of the nine crew of the plane, seven had died.

The information was confirmed by the Mayor's Office of Popayán.
Known the fact, Iván Duque, president of Colombia, expressed his solidarity and assured that the Government "is already in charge to attend to the victims."
