The team of "Becky Blinders" from Al-Baath University won the first place in the software competition for Syrian universities hosted by the Faculty of Arts at Al-Baath University in Homs, while the team "Expatovela" from Tishreen University came in second place and the team "Isert" from Damascus University in third place.
Dr. Osama Ismail, director of the software competition in Africa and the Arab world, stressed that the distinguished level of the Syrian students came as a result of the interest of the university and its cadres in the students because they are the future of Syria and its strength, noting that the competition is the key to the development of the country.
Dr. Abdul Basit Al-Khatib, President of Al-Baath University, said that the victory of the Al-Baath University team in the program competition for Syrian universities confirms the role of the university in encouraging outstanding students and securing all their requirements and providing them with the most important professors.
The ninth national final of the Syrian software competition for universities was launched yesterday with the participation of 75 teams from Syrian universities in addition to teams from the Syrian World Olympics from the National Center of Excellence.
The top-ranked teams at the national level will qualify for the 23rd African and Arab Championship in Egypt this November.
The closing ceremony of the competition was attended by Dr. Tarek Barakat, the representative of the president of the program competition in the Arab world and Africa, and the secretary of the Baath University branch of the Baath Arab Socialist Party and the deans of a number of colleges.
