Tunisia-Sana
Tunisian naval guards have rescued 26 illegal immigrants with Tunisian nationality after four days at sea as a result of the disruption of their boat.
TAP quoted a source from the Tunisian Maritime Guard as saying today that naval guard units in the governorate of Mahdia, south of Tunis, today rescued 26 Tunisian migrants. That the boat carrying them hangs to remain lost for four days before a fishing boat finds them and informs the naval guard units.
The source explained that the naval guard evacuated passengers and dragged the boat to the fishing port in Mahdia.
On the other hand, the Maritime Guard forces thwarted six illegal immigration operations from the shores of Mahdia during the past four days, during which they arrested 60 persons of Tunisian nationality and seized three engines and four boats used for sailing stealth.
According to a UN report, the continent's growing international migrant population has reached 272 million this year, faster than the world's population.
