The Syrian climber Omar al-Hosari managed to raise the national flag above the highest peak in Africa at Mount Kilimanjaro, called the roof of Africa in northeastern Tanzania.

Al-Hosari told SANA that after an arduous and enjoyable 10-day journey he was able to reach an altitude of 5,895 meters at the highest peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.

In April of last year, Al-Hosary was able to reach an altitude of 5,400 meters in the Himalayas and raise the national flag at the Kathmandu camp at that summit.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian expatriate Silvana Bitar arrived in February last year to the summit of Niiguata, which is one of the highest peaks of the mountains of Venezuela, raising the national flag.
