DAMASCUS, (SANA) - The People's Assembly continued on Tuesday at its 23rd session of the 11th ordinary session of the Teshr role

The People's Assembly today, at its 23rd session of the 11th Ordinary Session of the Second Legislative Role, chaired by Speaker Hamouda Sabbagh, discussed and approved the articles of the new draft law of the Artists Syndicate to replace Law No. 13 of 1990.

The Council approved the articles of Chapter 5 related to financial affairs, where the association has an estimated annual budget and a final account.

The property and funds of the syndicate and its movable and immovable branches shall be exempted from all taxes, fees, financial stamps, municipal and other works.

The Council also approved the sixth chapter, which contains general and transitional provisions, including the Artists Union updated under the provisions of this law to replace the existing Artists Union. This law shall be in respect of practicing the profession directly or upon the written request of the president or the head of the branch or whoever is authorized by the union council or the branch councils.

At the meeting today, the Council concluded its deliberations on the articles of the law with Article 80, but the adoption of the law pending the amendment of a number of articles that have been returned to the Committee of Education and Scientific Research for amendment and submitted to vote again in a later session.

The session, which was attended by Minister of Culture Mohammed Al-Ahmad and State for Parliamentary Affairs Abdullah Abdullah, was raised to 11:00 am on Thursday.
