Russia today affirmed its support for Lebanon's sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement after the Special Representative of the Russian President for Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, met with the advisor of the Lebanese President for Russian Affairs Amal Abu Zaid in Moscow today that the Russian side confirmed its support for the sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity of the friendly Lebanese Republic.
For his part, Abu Zaid said in a statement to Sputnik that a number of regional and international issues were discussed during the meeting, in addition to the latest internal political developments in Lebanon.
