The Hague-Sana

The International Criminal Court Prosecutor, Fatou Bensoda, announced that the commission is studying Venezuela’s request to investigate the US sanctions imposed on it, which Caracas considers a crime against humanity.

"Venezuela has asked it to open an investigation into crimes against humanity committed on its soil by the United States to determine whether there is one or more people who can be accused of these crimes," Bensouda quoted Bensoda as saying in a statement. It will decide on the issue of referring the case to an introductory room. ”

It is assumed that this chamber decides to open a preliminary study followed by an actual investigation of the court that was established in 2002 to try the world’s perpetrators of crime and is based in The Hague.

A few days ago, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry submitted a request to the International Criminal Court to investigate the coercive sanctions imposed by the United States of America against it, describing the sanctions policy as "weapons of mass destruction".

Venezuela is suffering from attempts to interfere with the US in its internal affairs and destabilize it by tightening economic and financial sanctions and supporting the right-wing forces and the coup against the legitimate president, Nicholas Maduro, using all means, including violence and chaos, with the aim of reviving Washington's plans to dominate this country that possesses huge oil wealth.
