Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, stressed the necessity of continuing the war on terrorism in Syria until its final elimination and extending the control of the Syrian state over all of its territory.
Nebenzia said during a session of the Security Council today that his country will not stop supporting Syria in its war on terrorism, stressing the need to respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity and work for the reconstruction and return of the Syrian displaced to their country.
Nebenzia stressed that the terrorist organizations in the Idlib countryside use civilians as human shields and prevent them from leaving the humanitarian crossings opened by the Syrian state.
Nebenzia called on some countries that support terrorism to stop supporting terrorist organizations in Syria, especially those listed on the Security Council's list of terrorist entities.
Nebenzia stressed that the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria affect the lives of the Syrians and hinder the reconstruction of hospitals and schools.
