(CNN Spanish) - Through a statement, the Princess of Asturias Foundation reported the death of Mario Bunge, Argentine philosopher and physicist awarded in 1982 with the Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities.

Mario Bunge resided in Montreal since 1966 and died there Monday.

He had studied physics and mathematics in the city of La Plata, in Argentina.

In he received the Guggenheim Fellowship distinction and in 2014 the Ludwig von Bertalanffy Prize.

They stand out among his works: "Theory and reality", "Philosophy of physics", "Epistemology, materialism and science", "The mind-brain problem" and "Economy and philosophy".

We regret the death of Mario Bunge.
Physicist graduated and Professor of Quantum of our Faculty, he gained worldwide recognition for his work in epistemology.
