With the pressure of President Alberto Fernández -which included the topic in the extraordinary sessions- the ruling party settled the internal discussion between “greens” and “celestial ones” and managed to approve in the Senate Marisa Graham as Defender of the Boy, Girl and Adolescents; a vacant position for 14 years.

The lawyer specializing in family law had already received the approval of Deputies last year, but the Senate extended its treatment because groups of "pro-life" legislators opposed Graham for his position in favor of the legalization of abortion.

His designation was finally ratified with 47 votes in favor and 21 against. Among them who rejected it, is the president of the Interblock of the Front of All, José Mayans, a "celestial" militant.

However, at least 8 official deputies, who were against the legalization of abortion in 2018, voted in favor of Graham's appointment.
