American actor Tom Cruise is preparing to shoot a film aboard the International Space Station, NASA boss of the United States space agency said on Twitter on Tuesday. "We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make ambitious NASA projects a reality," added Jim Bridenstine.
He did not give any details, but his message on social networks followed an article on the site Deadline, a specialist in Hollywood news, according to which Tom Cruise was collaborating with Elon Musk, boss of Tesla and SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies), with the aim of producing the first feature film shot in space.
Cruise, 57, star of the Mission: Impossible franchise , is renowned for his spectacular action movies and for performing stunts himself.
