How the Le Divan bookstore is designed in the 15th arrondissement

WEB SERIES 4/5 - After 55 days of confinement, Le Figaroscope meets five booksellers who reopen their shop and give us their literary favorites. Today, the Le Divan bookstore, which once again welcomes its customers to its beautiful space acclaimed by reading enthusiasts.


The place

Since Monday the bookstore has not been empty. Le Divan, a vast bookshop of 435 m², one of the largest in France, installed for twenty years in the family district of the Convention in the 15th arrondissement, sees its loyal customers returning with joy from 9 a.m. days. "It's like the end of a weaning," comments a collaborator. Despite the restrictions due to the health crisis, the enthusiasm is there.

Deconfinement measures

At the entrance, the director distributes masks (compulsory for children over 12) for those who do not have them and hydroalcoholic gel.

Apart from these small changes in circumstances, in this beautiful bright space completely refurbished in 2016, in a light wood decor, steel shelves and polished concrete pillars, the atmosphere is quite serene. Forty people can circulate on the shelves and consult the books freely. With newly reorganized timetables, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays, readers can catch up after these last two months spent in a vacuum.

The opening hours have been extended to accommodate customers in the best conditions. DR
