PS Mayor of Lille, Martine Aubry, announced on Saturday 30 May that there would be no agreement between her list and that worn by the ecologist Stéphane Baly for the second round of municipal elections on June 28, regretting that this last " do not want the meeting ".
“ Last Thursday evening, our teams met, as we wished. Since then, and despite our reminders, “Lille Verte 2020” has not followed up on this first meeting. We take note of it, ”said Martine Aubry's team in a press release.
" We were ready to change governance [...] However, Lille Verte 2020 was braced on a distribution of seats which in no way reflects the results of the 1st round which, despite a particularly unfavorable context with the abstention from working-class neighborhoods, placed the list “Lille in common, Lille in confidence” at the top of several points ”.

" We have drawn the consequences of their silence for 48 hours, despite several reminders, " said AFP member Arnaud Deslandes. " Already Thursday evening, they did not seem to want to reach an agreement, " he added, saying that " this attitude reflects what happened during the second half of the mandate, and even during the confinement ."
However, “ we approach the poll with confidence: the list came out on top, the dynamics are on our side. We will continue to carry the program that we defended on ecological transition, sustainable economic development, employment ... ”, assured Arnaud Deslandes.
