"One pointed at me and said, ' I kill him, I kill him. '"

TN journalist Ignacio González Prieto was the victim of a violent assault in Caseros, the Buenos Aires party of Tres de Febrero, when five armed criminals intercepted him after making purchases to steal his car and he resisted the pineapples.

" I am alive by a miracle ," the journalist who usually covers police cases for TN told his signal colleagues this Sunday. And he recognized: “My reaction was what not to do. I went on top of the criminal to confront him and I had a fight. ”

The robbery occurred on Saturday, around 6:45 pm, at the intersection of Lisandro Medina and Dante, in Caseros,  and the criminals fled with the journalist's car, a white Ford Focus, which was later found in the vicinity of Villa Carlos Gardel, who is in the Posadas Hospital area.

González Prieto said that he had come out from shopping in the neighborhood when he heard a car turn very loud and he imagined the worst: "In my head the first thing I thought was ' I'm on it. '"

The thieves were in a white Peugeot 208 with tinted windows from which an armed thief got off, according to the account of the assaulted journalist. He resisted and fought with that criminal and with two others who joined. They kicked him and hit him in the head before escaping.

"I found myself fighting with three people at the same time. At that moment, merchants and neighbors began to come out to see what was happening," González Prieto said, adding that two more thieves joined later.

Both were also armed: one hit him in the head and the other kept him in his sights. "He pointed at me and said, 'I kill him, I kill him,'" he recalled.

The journalist considered that he is "alive by a miracle" and that if they had shot "it would have been a disaster " because at that time there were merchants, employees and neighbors on the block who took to the streets.

The thieves ripped the car keys from his hands and escaped with the journalist's Ford Focus, which was later recovered in the Villa Carlos Gardel area. "I have the feeling that I was born again, I had a reaction to defend myself against armed people , " he said, reproaching himself for what he did.

And he thanked the neighbors who helped him after the robbery, the SAME people who attended him (he received several stitches on his head ) and the local and provincial authorities of the Buenos Aires police and the municipality of Tres de Febrero.

"There is one issue that worries us, and that is that many criminals came out of prison and rejoined their peers. They are armed and dangerous people ," said the journalist who now has custody at the door of Caseros' house. "My head is bandaged. Last night everything hurt, and today more," he closed.
