An Ecuadorian couple has entered the Guinness Book of Records after being officially registered as the oldest married couple in the world.
According to the British newspaper "The Independent", the couple were able to enter the international encyclopedia after calculating their ages together 215 years, where the husband is 110 years, while the wife reaches 105 years.
The couple got married on February 7, 1941 in the first church secretly built by the Spaniards in Quito, because their parents were reluctant to marry them.
The couple, who are retired teachers, live in the Ecuadorian capital Quito. They have 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
