A loud explosion at a battery workshop southwest of Tehran left one dead and damaged dozens of cars and buildings on Friday, local media reported.

The explosion, in Nasim Shahr County, "
completely destroyed the battery shop, killed one person and cost the loss of one limb to another,
" said the local fire brigade chief, Iraj Torkamani, at the Tasnim News Agency.
The cause of the explosion is undetermined and an investigation is underway, he added.
