The annual conference of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) has its last day this Friday.
The event, which began on Wednesday, takes place this year virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Participants have heard leaders from different fields reflect on the political, economic and political challenges facing the region for the future.
This Friday, the discussion will focus on the implications of the presidential elections in the United States for Latin America and the Caribbean, scheduled for November 3.
Julissa Reynoso, former US ambassador to Uruguay, and Roger Noriega, former US Under Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs and US Ambassador to the OAS will participate in the debate.
During this same day, the impact of the pandemic on democracy and political processes in the region will be discussed, with the participation, among others, of the renowned Venezuelan journalist Luz Mely Reyes, director of the independent media Efecto Cocuyo.

Organized since 1997 together with the Inter-American Dialogue and the Organization of American States, CAF's Annual Conference is one of the main hemispheric meetings that allow the debate and analysis of major trends in Latin America and the Caribbean.
