Concern about swimming
"15 percent of children are overweight," says Dr.
Herbert Meissner.
Individual sports such as swimming, athletics or exercise in the playground are the best remedies.
If the referendum is successful, there will be no swimming lessons in Graefelfing for "at least three years".
Worse still: The entire swimming department of TSV Graefelfing, which has active members of all generations and is "far more than a swimming school", will disband during this time.

Meißner: “The trained trainers, including my wife, would migrate.
That would be the death of this TSV department, with lasting consequences.
That is irresponsible. "
The forest between the campus and the autobahn, described by the project opponents as a “school forest”, was “not a place of relaxation for the population” on closer inspection.
The dormouse, of which two specimens have been spotted there, is not an endangered species and has a huge habitat;
she could easily avoid it, especially since the grove should by no means disappear entirely.
A construction site in the school yard, on the other hand, will lead to noise pollution for the students and the cancellation of school sports for years.
The current 16 hours a week during which the swimming pool is open to the public, as well as offers for senior citizens such as that offered by the Vhs, would also be dropped for years.

Herbert Meißner's conclusion: “I followed the long, differentiated discussions and decision-making processes of the municipal council.

This project is a gift to the people of Graefelfingen in the ideal location. "
Many Graefelfingers see it that way, who, as volunteers and club members, are part of the community's social backbone.
“The community is doing its best to build as climate-friendly and sustainable as possible for a lot of money.
That is rejected in favor of a concrete pile in the schoolyard, ”says family man and firefighter Christian Köhler.
"The location we have now found is the ideal place for this ecologically considerate project with green roofs, photovoltaics and environmentally friendly water management," says Gerhard Fuchs.
The spokesman for the Graefelfingen clubs also says: "This is an investment in the future of the community, for the good of the children, the athletes and the whole population."
His daughter Julia Fuchs interferes with the referendum, including the timing.

Christian Köhler: “That is simply not true.
All banners were financed by private individuals.
TSV Graefelfing is just one of the places where you can pick them up. "
"TSV did not pay for banners and did not order"
Upon Merkur's request, TSV President Christoph Göbel and his deputy Florian Brenner confirmed this.
Göbel: "TSV Graefelfing did not pay a cent for these banners and did not commission them." However, the largest Graefelfing sports club with 3800 members is "anything but neutral" when it comes to the planned swimming and sports hall.
Christoph Göbel: “This new sporting infrastructure is urgently needed in Graefelfing.
The hall times are nowhere near enough - not least for school sports, which are increasing significantly in the course of all-day school.
And investigations during my time as mayor have shown that there is not enough space on the school campus for this project. "
