The arrest of the fifty-year-old during a demonstration of caregivers on June 16, had caused much ink to flow.

"Farida the nurse", from the hospital ... to the court.

This Friday, September 25, Farida C. is due to appear at the Batignolles courthouse for acts of “contempt”, “rebellion” and “violence” against persons holding public authority.

Unless the trial is postponed, as requested by the defendant's lawyer, Me Arié Alimi, who is currently involved in an assize trial in Melun and therefore cannot be present at the hearing.

Whether she is judged this Friday or later, Farida C. will have to explain the events of Tuesday, June 16.

That day, a demonstration of caregivers was organized in several cities in France.

Quickly, images of the Parisian demonstration circulated and created indignation: a woman in a white coat, Farida C., was strongly arrested by the police.

Then emerge other videos that show the same woman in a white coat throwing projectiles in the direction of the police, which is why she is arrested.

This is confirmed by Sibeth Ndiaye, then spokesperson for the government, at the end of the Council of Ministers which takes place the next day:

“This arrest follows a throwing of projectiles made by this lady and was carried out in view of these actions. ".

"Farida is not a breaker!"

In the wake of his arrest, the geriatric nurse in Val-de-Marne is placed in police custody at the police station of the 7th arrondissement of Paris.

On the evening of June 16, a rally took place in front of the police station to demand the release of the mother.

On June 17, a second rally was organized at the same place.

Several deputies from rebellious France are present.

In a statement entitled

"Free Farida!"

, the CGT of Val-de-Marne rebelled: "

Its place is not in the police stations or before the courts!"

Farida is not a breaker! ”.

The nurse "

was arrested with incredible violence, tackled and kept on the ground, grabbed by the hair,

" describes the union.

“Nothing justifies such an inquiry.

Not when you are unarmed, not in a blouse, not when you are 1.55m ”

, supports Imen Mellaz, Farida C.'s daughter, on Twitter.

Stressing that "

Farida immediately recognized having been overcome by anger at the end of the demonstration because of the police charges, profuse tear gas and multiple provocations by the police

", the CGT believes that "

the context does not could not be evaded

”.

"This nurse is professionally, physically and psychologically harassed"

, insists the union, referring to

"three months of fierce fight against Covid-19".

Police officers filed a complaint

Farida C. finally emerges from the police station on Wednesday, June 17 in the afternoon, with a summons before the Paris Criminal Court on September 25 for "contempt", "rebellion" and "violence" on people holding public authority .

This could earn him up to three years in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros under article 222-13 of the Penal Code.

At the end of June, Imen Mellaz launches a kitty on Paypal to help his mother meet her legal costs.

To date, more than 5,000 euros have been raised.

The trial of September 25

"is not that of a woman against four police officers, but that of the anger of caregivers against a government which has nothing but contempt for their demands and an ever more violent repression"

, affirms the journalist in the text accompanying the pot.

Contacted, the Paris police headquarters, on which the police officers who lodged a complaint depend, did not wish to answer

Figaro's

questions

on this case.

Case which also includes a second part: on June 19, Farida C. lodged a complaint against the police officers who arrested her for “willful violence by persons holding public authority”.

The IGPN investigation is underway.
