Architecture is dead, long live the restoration?
After months of waltz-hesitation, the Ministry of Culture ended up putting an end to the construction of the Grand Palais, as it had been presented in 2018.

I went there in mid-July, and I understood that if the Grand Palais wanted to be ready for the holding of the Olympic Games in 2024, and if we did not want to end with a huge financial slippage, we had to start again from another foot. "
Taking courage in both hands, the minister therefore whistled the end of the game and instructed Chris Dercon, president of the RMN-Grand Palais, to announce to the architectural firm LAN the burial of his rehabilitation project, as well as the termination of his contract.
No matter how hard we look, we do not remember a great cultural project having gone so far in the dream, and for which the ministry has defied itself.
We are changing projects, but eventually the building will not only be restored but completely reconfigured.
