Moscow-SANA, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that there is a gradual recovery in consumer demand in Russia yet

Moscow-Sana

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that there is a gradual recovery in consumer demand in Russia after its decline due to the Corona crisis, along with a continuous decline in inflation rates.

"Prices are stable in Russia, and inflation rates were in the middle of this month at a level of 3.9 percent on an annual basis," Russia Today quoted Putin as saying during a government meeting today on the economic situation in the country.

He added, "Experts are cautious about the economic outlook, and they are right to do so because the recovery trend may not be sustainable in light of the Corona crisis."

Regarding the main tasks of the Russian government, Putin considered that working to increase the income of Russian citizens and increase jobs are among the priorities.

The Russian Central Bank had improved its forecasts for the performance of the Russian economy during the current year and expected a decrease in the volume of GDP between 4 and 5 percent in 2020, while previous expectations indicated 4.5 to 5.5 percent due to the Corona crisis and the decline in oil prices in global markets.
