The government will

extend for another 60 days the ban on layoffs,

which expired at the end of the month.

It also plans to extend

the double compensation

for a similar period

, valid for now until December 17.

They will make it official this Saturday.

Both measures were taken at the beginning of the pandemic to try to mitigate the impact of the crisis on workers.

However, they failed to prevent

unemployment from increasing in March.

In the second quarter of this year, unemployment went from 10.4% to 13.1%, according to INDEC data.

This is the worst index since 2004.

According to government sources confirmed to

Clarín

, the Minister of Labor, Claudio Moroni, has already signed the DNU to extend until January 31 the prohibition of dismissals

without just cause due to lack or decrease in work and force majeure.

The rule will reach suspensions on the same terms.

News in development.
